Do you
- have an associate in your organization or another municipality,
- know a full-time student in municipal studies,
- know a person affiliated in some way with municipal government,
that you would like to introduce to our Association?
The Association of Municipal Tax Collectors of Ontario would like to ensure that everyone involved with Municipal property tax administration becomes acquainted with the advantages of belonging to the Association. We are confident that you will find membership rewarding and beneficial.
Described below are a few of the benefits:
- The Annual General Business Meeting and Spring Seminar provide delegates with timely information through plenary sessions and workshops presented by experts. Special accommodation rates are enjoyed by members attending these events.
- The Tax Collectors Journal is published three times per year and focuses on procedures, policies and legislation. Regular features include strategies for collecting tax arrears and managing Tax Sales. Other topics include courtroom/small claims court procedures, appointments of bailiffs and other issues.
- On a lighter note, we spotlight friends and associates during amusing moments captured at seminars and keep members informed of milestones and events of colleagues.
- The Municipal Tax Administrators Program (MTAP) is a three-course program of the Association of Municipal Tax Collectors of Ontario. Tax policies and legislations have seen dramatic changes in the past few years.
- Taxing Matters is our e-mail newsletter dispensing updates and discussions of legislative issues crucial to understanding municipal affairs. Concerns and reports carried by this newsletter emanate from such sources as the AMTCO Executive, the Province of Ontario and your colleagues.
- AMTCOs website helps keep members abreast of late breaking news. Members questions and concerns can be emailed to the entire membership, and executive members and other resource people provide quick answers.
